brianyoung001Happy New Year! I hope you and your families have had a great Christmas break. I hope the plan of floating “fishing” Christmas gift ideas worked out for you. There was a lot of wet weather around over December but yet, somehow, I still managed to get out there and throw a line out!

The awards went very well and I look forward to seeing many more Trophy entries in this coming year.

Our website has had a revamp over the break and will be up to date and have lots more current information. Please visit the website regularly to have a look around. The Captains Corner is incredibly valuable for sharing information and tips especially for flies that have been successful on our wonderful rivers. Have a quick look before your next trip out, you may pick up a tip and that could make your day fishing even better!

We are in the process of beginning to use a mass emailing system to send out invites, for fishing trips and other information. This will be a great help for reminders about upcoming trips. Please make sure your email address and all other information is up to date with the secretary.

The Turangi House has been extremely busy over the break. I look forward to see your bookings for the rest of the summer months, and hearing the stories about catching that lovely brown on a dry fly at dusk….

Make sure you are up to date with the club trips schedule and book in as soon as details are sent out. I am really looking forward to fishing the Whirinaki River. I have never fished there before and I am very keen to learn the way around the river. Any tips would be a welcomed help... I might just visit The Captain’s Corner... Tight Lines

Welcome
